The Roots Back Up Christopher Cross :: Sailing

If you walked up to me 10 years ago and said ‘Yo, The Roots are gonna play “Sailing” with Christopher Cross tonight.’ — I’d be confused as all hell.

Gotta tell ya what, I still am. When I see The Roots on Jimmy Fallon, which to be honest is the only reason I started watching Jimmy Fallon, I can not believe The Roots are on this show.

But I love it. And they crack me up. Jimmy Fallon is getting funnier, too.

Yacht Rock! That’s a concept I can get behind. Nice one. He filled the show with it.

Christopher Cross is phenomenal here and I’m so glad he did this. I waited all day to show the wife this, only to realize it was exclusively aired online when the dvr froze. Pretty cool move though.

Tuba Gooding Jr. cracks me up. As always.

This is easily one of my favorite songs. Perfect blend of poetry and soundscape.
